Luan Lawrenson-Woods
Lived Experience Panellist
Professional Bio
Luan Lawrenson-Woods is an award-winning patient advocate, podcast host and speaker dedicated to centring the patient voice in healthcare. Her work grew out of the gaps in care and information that too many women encounter, and she has developed innovative ways to close them. These include Rewritten Me, Australia’s first podcast dedicated to reconstruction after a mastectomy, Instagram Live Q&As and digital resources. Most recently, she launched Regarding Me, a podcast that empowers women to speak up for their health and develop the skills they need to advocate for themselves.
Drawing on her lived experience of breast cancer and chronic illnesses, as well as more than 15 years in community-engaged not-for-profits, Luan creates space for honest, practical conversations about self-advocacy, communication and the vital role of lived experience across healthcare systems.
Women trust her with their stories and perspectives. She brings those insights into her work with clinicians, organisations and health system leaders to shape more inclusive, patient-centred care.
