Patricia Sparrow is the Chief Executive Officer of COTA Australia, the peak body for older Australians, dedicated to creating a future that values and includes people as they age. Her mission is clear; to make ageism as unacceptable as sexism or racism.  

With a career spanning community services, aged care, disability, health, and government, Patricia brings a broad perspective—from frontline experience to policy influence. She has worked across the not-for-profit sector, public service and Ministerial offices.  

At the heart of her work is a belief in the dignity and contribution of older people. She has championed reforms that put control and funding in the hands of individuals, not providers, and continues to advocate for systemic change. Whether it’s tackling workplace ageism, improving housing, or recognising the rights of First Nations elders, Patricia keeps one goal in focus: a society where older Australians are respected, included, and heard.
