Rita has over 30 years’ experience in the human services sector, working across government and non-government organisations. Positions have included health promotion at VicHealth, Director Research and Planning at BeyondBlue, and eight years as CEO at Women’s Health Victoria, leading initiatives in health promotion, sexual and reproductive health, peer support for women with cancer and gender equity. Prior to joining BreastScreen Victoria, she was CEO of Safe Steps Family Violence Response Centre, overseeing Victoria’s only 24/7 crisis response service and specialist trauma counselling through 1800RESPECT.
